Job Description:

Collaborate with the Real-time Syndromic Surveillance Team on national and strategic projects, managing syndromic systems, datasets, analyses, and reports. Provide expertise in outbreak investigations, advise on strategies, and support research activities.

Handle multiple tasks efficiently, offer public health advice, influence policy decisions, and communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Utilize information systems for public health actions and data analysis
  • Lead complex analyses and manage outbreak investigations
  • Develop and implement public health policies and strategic plans
  • Offer expert advice across sectors and influence policy decisions
  • Lead public health research and manage international collaborations
  • Supervise staff within the Real-time Syndromic Surveillance Team

Requirements:

Essential Criteria:

  • Degree in a related field, with extensive experience in epidemiology and disease prevention
  • Advanced knowledge of database software and data analysis
  • Experience in scientific report writing and project management
  • Proven teaching and training skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities

Desirable Criteria:

  • Health Care Professionals Council or UK Voluntary Register inclusion
  • Experience in syndromic surveillance and statistical research
  • Background in health-related sectors and change management
  • Training in research methods and public health
