The Opportunity:

  • Salary:
    £24,294 to £24,702 per annum (£11,654 to £11,850 pro rata for part-time), including Saturday Enhancement entitlement working 5 hours 30 minutes every other Saturday.

Shoreham by Sea is a lively local library situated at the heart of the community, opposite the iconic St Mary de Haura church.

We are seeking a Senior Library Assistant to join our senior team and provide support to our friendly group of library assistants.

As a Senior Library Assistant, your responsibilities will span various areas of the library service, including offering a customer-facing library service and a high-quality enquiry service.

  • You will need to provide accurate information and guide to other services when necessary.
  • You will supervise and support Library Assistants and volunteers to ensure they offer top-notch service to our customers.
  • Flexibility is crucial as your tasks may range from assisting a customer with library Wi-Fi to leading a Baby Rhyme Time session for parents and babies.

Weekly Shifts:

  • Monday: 09:30 am to 6:00 pm
  • Tuesday: 09:30 am to 6:00 pm
  • Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: OFF
  • Saturday: OFF
