What you will be doing

This is a specialized role that collaborates with outreach workers in a multi-agency environment, endeavoring to offer support to homeless individuals aged 18 and above with drug and alcohol dependencies. The primary responsibilities of the role include:

  • Carrying a small caseload of the most intricate clients.
  • Providing guidance, support, and training to other outreach workers.
  • Aiding in the development of effective pathways to facilitate challenging individuals' access to treatment and support services.

You will provide client-centered support utilizing both harm reduction and abstinence-based treatment methodologies based on the individual client's needs.

Responsibilities will include offering appropriate harm reduction guidance, conducting assessments, creating care plans, and delivering structured 1:1 and group sessions.

Collaboration with other services such as Healthcare, Probation, and Housing Options Teams is integral to the role.

What we are looking for

We are in search of motivated, self-directed, and enthusiastic individuals to engage with our client group and guide them on their recovery journey. The listed skills and experience are preferred but not mandatory, as we provide a thorough induction and continuous training program to enhance our workforce:

  • Experience in the substance misuse services sector.
  • Experience in conducting comprehensive assessments, risk management plans, and designing and implementing SMART care plans.
  • Experience in delivering structured interventions to service users.
  • Experience in leading group sessions.
  • Proficiency in utilizing motivational interviewing techniques in both individual and group settings.
  • Strong proficiency in IT.
  • Understanding of continuity of care, comprehensive care needs, and community services.
  • Experience in promoting and supporting Equality and Diversity.
