The Role:


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent, Specialist Community Dietitian to join our dynamic team of Dietitian's in NHS Lanarkshire.

This role is a Band 6. Full-time and Part-time hours will be considered.

We are looking for a skilled, motivated dietitian with excellent communication and negotiation skills
who will provide a clinical service within outpatient and domiciliary settings, and via remote (video / telephone) appointment modes.

Within this post there will be a focus on nutritional support and enteral feeding for patients with / at risk of undernutrition and care for adults, although there may be opportunities to work with paediatric patients.


This post requires travel across NHS Lanarkshire - a full UK/EEA driving license is essential.


The NHS Lanarkshire Dietetic Service has a clinical remit for people of all ages across a diverse population, with areas of both high deprivation and affluence.

Community and hospital based dietetic teams work closely together to provide care to patients across inpatient and outpatient settings.

What we'll need you to bring:

  • Registered Dietitian with valid HCPC Registration.
  • Be a source of proffessional dietic advice.
  • Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level.
  • Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.
  • Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality / area of practice.
  • Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification.
  • Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Be an active participant in student training.
  • Have excellent time management skills.
  • Have working knowledge of basic information technology.
  • Have excellent teamworking/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative.

It would be great if you also have:

  • Member of PENG/Attendance at PENG course or willingness to do so
  • Knowledge of current Enteral Feeding, nutritional support and ONS Best Practice Policies

Contract type:

Permanent

Full time - Part Time negotiable

37.5 hours

Location and Working Pattern:

This role will be based at Beckford Street in the Nutrition and Dietetics Department.
