To provide a receptionist and general office function for the Taith Newydd, Low Security Unit. The post holder will be the first point of contact for individuals entering the unit. Receptionist duties include upholding and complying with Swansea Bay University Health Board policies and

procedures are professionally maintained at all times in order to maintain the welfare and safety of staff, patients, visitors and the general public.

The post-holder may also be expected to undertake a broad range of administrative duties within Taith Newydd as and when required.

This may include, supporting the ward managers with ward or patient related
administration, whilst protecting the confidential nature of the service which is provided within Taith Newydd at all times.

Some information noted below:
Reception Duties

  • Provision of a comprehensive reception service ensuring that all contacts are managed in a polite, helpful and efficient manner. This will include making excellent use of interpersonal
skills to provide a welcoming service to all patients, staff and visitors.

  • To maintain the security function of the reception centre. This will include adherence to policies and procedures relating to security at Taith Newydd to maintain the welfare and safety of staff, patients, visitors and the public. This will also include the requirement of excellent co-ordination skills whilst working in reception and managing a busy front door.
Ward - Based Duties

  • To assist in the delivery of high quality nursing care in support of Registered Nurse/MDT by completing administrative tasks such as Ward Round notes, MDT notes, keeping up to date records of patient consent for family/carers to be contacted regarding their care, supporting with referral/assessment documentation, management of patient records etc.
