Howden, Corporate & Commercial, is in search of a Claims Executive. This role entails the proactive management of all claims from start to finish, while always being attentive to the clients' requirements throughout the process. Ensuring that clients receive professional guidance consistently.

Please be aware that this is a full-time, permanent position based in our Bedford office, and ideally involves on-site presence for an average of 3 days per week.

Overview:

  • Attendance at clients' premises post significant or complex losses to aid in investigating any case law or relevant facts that assist in achieving a satisfactory settlement and resolution.
  • Monitoring and analyzing claim patterns for discussion and review with Risk Management.
  • Cultivating and nurturing close relationships at a senior level with all our partners, including Insurers and Loss Adjusters.
  • Fostering an open 'early warning' atmosphere to ensure the timely identification and resolution of issues/potential E&O's.
  • Facilitating communication - ensuring clear lines of communication within the team and sharing all pertinent information with the Claims Director and Account Executives Corporate Client team.
  • Collaboration with new business teams and supporting in acquiring new clients with a focus on our 'Excellence in Claims' provision.
  • Staying up-to-date with new products and emerging markets.
  • Training and mentoring team members and the broader Claims Division.
  • Producing claims reports to guarantee optimal policy presentation before renewals and attending client meetings as necessary.

Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with all primary categories of General Insurance and the CII's Code of Ethics and GDPR.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar capacity is a must.
  • Prior experience in cross-class products is desirable for this role.
  • Accountability for personal development and maintaining knowledge through e-learning, internal courses, and pursuing professional certifications to accrue the necessary CPD points.

  • Effective prioritization and meeting of deadlines.

  • Strong negotiation and brokering skills.
  • Superb oral and written communication proficiencies.
  • Ability to recognize and appropriately address an individual client's level of comprehension.

Qualifications:

  • GCSE in Maths and English (or equivalent).
  • A levels (preferred).
  • Diploma in Insurance (preferred).
