An exciting opportunity has come up for a Subcontract Controller to join our Commercial and Industrial division, part of the Severfield group, based at our site in Dalton, Thirsk.


In this role you will be working in the manufacturing department and will support the procurement, execution and delivery of fabricated and painted steelwork as directed by the requirement of the manufacturing facilities for the group.


This role will be a multi skilled role in all activities associated with the Sub-Contract Procurement and to ensure that high performance is maintained, on-time deliveries are made, and specifications are met.


The main purpose of the role is the allocation of project materials (structural steel sections), organising deliveries to sub-contractors of all free issue materials, obtaining delivery notes, and updating MRP system with appropriate information.

Expediting materials to meet strict fabrication deadlines.


You will be supporting the sub-contract manager with procurement of sub-contract services, ensuring that all specifications, and commercial requirements are met.


To be successful in this role you will need to have a HNC in either manufacturing, engineering, project management or procurement.

Previous procurement or manufacturing experience within the steelwork industry is desirable.

Knowledge of Strumis operating system is preferred but not essential as training will be given.

Hours of work will be 08:30 - 17:15 Monday - Thursday and 08:30 - 15:00 Friday.
