This is an ideal opportunity to join our team here at Haylie House in Largs, a vibrant residential care home with an excellent reputation for the quality of care we provide for our residents.

We are looking to recruit a
RELIEF COOK to join our team.

The Contract:
- £12.44 per hour

  • Shifts 9am5pm and 8am2pm including weekends
  • Free uniform
  • Paid breaks
  • Company pension
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave
  • Free onsite parking

Essential Experience / Criteria:

  • Relevant catering qualification achieved or working towards
  • Cooking experience minimum 2 years preferred
  • Team player with leadership and supervision skills
  • Basic food hygiene certificate held
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Experience working in a care environment would be advantageous but not a dealbreaker.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, cook, and serve hot and cold meals according to meal times and ad hoc requirements
  • Bake cakes and pastries
  • Provide support and supervision to kitchen assistants with various tasks
  • Ensure all front of house areas are presented at all meal times to agreed standard
  • Maintain and improve professional knowledge and competence
  • Maintain accurate records of food supplies, freezer/fridge temperatures etc
  • Ensure stock rotation
  • Assist in ordering of stock and delivery checks
  • Ensure adherence to statutory Health & Safety standards in the kitchen and dining areas
  • Ensure all crockery and equipment is cleaned, stored, and used appropriately
