Job Title: Test Technician

Location: Whitstable, Kent

Salary: £25,000

Hours: Monday to Thursday and Friday

Role Summary:The Test Technician will be in charge of conducting tests on products to ensure they meet safety and quality standards. Responsibilities include supporting and executing testing according to relevant standards using static and dynamic testing methods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Lead Operator in completing tests efficiently and safely.
  • Assist in operating the dynamic test rig.
  • Set up tests following relevant standards.
  • Ensure timely delivery of preventative maintenance programs.
  • Perform post-test analysis using appropriate software.
  • Generate test reports in compliance with standards.
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer quality expectations.
  • Assist in global R&D and production test programs.
  • Support analysis and diagnosis of test outcomes.
  • Ensure safe handling of test specimens.
  • Maintain instrument calibration register.
  • Represent the company professionally in customer interactions.
  • Promote safe working practices and continuous improvement.
  • Support other business areas during low activity periods.

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Qualification in Mechanical or Maintenance Engineering.
  • 2 years' experience in an Engineering, Technical, or Workshop environment.
  • 'Hands-on' approach with good mechanical skills.
  • Self-motivated and focused.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Proven ability to excel under pressure.
  • Preferably experienced in automotive or testing industry.
  • Preferably experienced in new product development.
