Acorn by Synergie is looking for a Dispatch Inspector/Stock controller for their well-established client, to work at their despatch site in Gloucester.

This is a temporary to permanent position


This work is predominately based outside and so this needs to be considered by anyone looking to take on this role.


Role Purpose:
The role is to become an organised and self-sufficient member of the site logistics operation.

A Despatch inspector/Stock controller will be flexible to business needs and passionate about providing a professional service to both internal and external customers.

Their role is to inspect and check the completeness of items ready for despatch, also keep track and update the stock control software of all inward and outward movement of parts, in line with company processes and policies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Become a qualified and selfsufficient goods receipt / despatch inspector.
  • Complete transactional processes within the stock control system.
  • Follow stores best practice to ensure all stock levels are accurate.
  • Gaining the relevant certifications in becoming capable of operating Forklift and Telehandler equipment to mechanically handle steel parts as required.
  • Working within the physical logistics organisation ensuring all daily / weekly activities are carried out in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Responsible in ensuring that housekeeping regimens are adhered to and adopt the stock control policy to its required current and future standards.
  • Work as part of a team to ensure that all the above deliverables are carried out efficiently and safely in order to maintain schedule adherence and to comply with specific processes, procedures and legislation.
  • Champion 'Stock Control' compliance activities, ensuring you and where applicable, members of the Despatch team, adhere to the site 'Stock Control Plan', guaranteeing systems are up to date and accurate at all times.
  • Compliance with all risk assessments and company Environment, Health & Safety Procedures relevant to all work activities.

Essential Requirements:

  • Computer literacy
  • Stock Control understanding and Stores and Stock experience would be beneficial.
  • Organisational skills.
  • Numerate and attention to detail with a disciplined approach to process adherence.
  • Previous experience in working predominately in an outdoor environment.

Desirable:

  • Previous FLT (counterbalance & reach) licence desirable but training can be given.
  • Experience in working with Cranes would be advantageous but not essential.

Shift/Hours:

  • 5 days Monday Friday 8am to 4.30pm (2 x breaks at 15 minutes approximately and lunch is 30 minutes).

Rates:
- £13.61 per hour
