Data Protection Executive Position at Admiral Group Plc

The Data Protection and Privacy (DPP) Department, under the leadership of the Head of Group Privacy, is seeking a curious and inquisitive Data Protection Executive to provide guidance and assurance to ensure compliance with Data Protection responsibilities.

Joining our experienced team during the restructure phase, you will play a crucial role in helping Admiral Group Plc navigate its Data Protection obligations in a data-centric world. The position is within the newly established Office of the DPO and involves responsibilities in Assurance, Communications, and Training.

Working across all Admiral Group businesses, your main tasks will include identifying data protection risks, enhancing controls, driving improvements, and contributing to team initiatives and projects as needed.

In addition to an in-house training program and management support, you will have ample opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Main Duties

  • Undertake Data Protection assurance reviews to assess control effectiveness and risks
  • Provide reasoned recommendations for improvement to senior management
  • Contribute to the development of the DPP Annual Assurance Plan
  • Identify areas needing further assurance and gather relevant information
  • Conduct follow-up reviews and report on ongoing risks
  • Gain insights into data protection approaches across different jurisdictions within the Group
  • Understand and apply Privacy Controls Framework (PCF), Group Data Protection Policy, and Group Minimum Standards
  • Contribute to team projects in Communications, Assurance, and more
  • Collaborate with Group Risk, Compliance, and Privacy teams to share insights and efforts
  • Stay updated on Data Protection legislation, regulations, and case law

Key Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

  • Understanding of Data Protection topics and legislation
  • Knowledge of audit, risk, or assurance functions
  • Ability to build relationships with stakeholders and provide valuable advice
  • Enquiring nature with strong evidence gathering and analysis skills
  • Clear and concise report writing abilities
  • Attention to detail and analytical mindset
  • Organizational skills for managing multiple projects and records
  • Pragmatic approach to balance business risks
  • Team player with experience in the financial services sector
  • Qualification in audit and/or Data Protection
