Serco Defence provides our customer Logistical support of the prestigious Skynet contract which provides satellite communication services to the UK Government and Armed Forces.

We have an opening for a Logistic Administrator to join our team, key aspects of this role involve providing Logistics Support and undertaking Logistics activities to a high level.

Here at Serco, we are recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Operative to join our current team based at SGS Oakhanger.

This role will assist with the service delivery of Facilities Management across the Skynet contract primarily at Oakhanger but with travel to other Skynet locations in Wiltshire.

The Multi-Skilled Craftsperson will be an active member of the FM team responsible for undertaking building works to include general carpentry, basic electrical and plumbic, and maintenance and repair of faults over the life of the contract.

The Multi-Skilled Operative will be the focal point for all building fabric maintenance and repairs working alongside the FM team taking into consideration all the key operational requirements.

Main responsibilities will include:

Carry out repairs to a variety of building services and demonstrate to multi-skill outside of core trade to include minor plumbing works, building work, grounds work and drainage related leaks.

Work with mínimal supervisor and be able to make decisions on the most appropriate repair solution.
Carry out annual building condition surveys across Skynet sites, identify remedial works and proactively seek to complete these.
Complete routine checks, asset replacement, improvements, reactive repairs, and site maintenance within area of responsibility.
Assist the FM Project Manager in preparing specifications and quotations when required.
Escort and supervise sub-contractors working on site.

There may be a requirement to join the on-call rota for the Oakhanger based team providing 24/7 call out - requirement will be one week out of four once full trained.

What you'll need to do the role:
Full UK Driving Licence.
Knowledge of relevant Health & Safety requirements including COSHH and RIDDO is desirable.
Previous trade skills aligned to general DIY activities.
Good level of customer care.
Takes pride in the quality of work.
Effective time management skills.
Must be able to achieve SC Security Clearance.
