PurposenThe successful candidate will be responsible for testing our camera hardware and software systems, ensuring they function seamlessly together. This includes running the system in suboptimal conditions to identify the limitations and the symptoms of failure.


This includes continuously performing various functional and non-functional tests on Reveal's hardware and software products to ensure compliance and compatibility with different specifications and customer expectations.


The successful candidate will develop and execute automation tests to simulate the system performance under different loads of system usage and different network conditions.

Your Responsibilities


Camera TestingnTesting many cameras in a typical usage scenario to ensure compliance with specifications.nTest cameras recording capabilities against battery life.nTest cameras various functionality against various settings and configurations.nTest wireless camera capabilities on WIFI or via LTE under different network conditions.nTest streaming from cameras in different environments under different network conditions.

Software TestingnTest different functionality of Reveal's DEMS 360 software to ensure compliance with specificationsnTest usage of DEMS 360 under different network conditionsnTest Reveal's redactor software with different videos lengths and multiple concurrent usersnPerform cross-browser (Google Chrome and Edge) compatibility test


System (Camera/Software) TestingnTest camera hardware and DEMS 360 together as a general user would use themnTest uploading of files from cameras to DEMS 360 via PC, Smart Gateway, or wirelesslynPerform compatibility testing of camera firmware with each relevant version of DEMS 360 in terms of encryption, file upload, settings and all other functionalities.


Scalability and Load TestingnPerform load testing on uploading files from many cameras to DEMS 360.nPerform load testing on DEMS 360 with hundreds of users uploading files, accessing DEMS 360 to search for, view and edit files.nPerform load testing with many cameras wirelessly streaming or uploading to DEMS 360.nPerform scalability and stress tests to find breaking points for the camera and DEMS 360.


OperationnWork closely with Technical Account Managers team to understand the real life deployments of our customers.nWork with customers to understand scalability issues of they system and how it performs under different load.nSimulate different customer environments to measure how the system performs and measure the breaking points of the system.nWork closely with Service Delivery Team and assist in troubleshooting system issues reported by clients, differentiating known issues from new issues.nSupport the Operations Team and Service Delivery Team with general queries around camera, software and overall system features, behaviour and performance.nReproduce and document any customer reported issues in the defect management tool, and report to Product Manager.


GeneralnParticipate in daily team stand-ups and monthly sprint planning, providing estimates and progress updates.nKeep the product team informed on the general status of the current build, highlighting performance concerns or system failures in testing.nParticipate in product design reviews to provide input on functional/non-functional requirements, system performance, or potential problems.nSupport the wider Software Development and Testing team in software testing, including both new features and regression testing.

Your Qualifications, Technical Skills and Experience


Essentialn· Minimum 3 years' experience as a System Tester or similar role.n· Experience in software testing methodologies and testing types.n· Experience in defining test scenarios, test cases, test matrices and text execution.n· Ability to understand technical specifications.n· Experience in Browser Compatibility testing.n· Experience in system performance testing with good appreciation of memory, CPU, network, and scalability.n· Experience in building and running automated load testing test suites.n· Experience of Agile & Scrum development environment.n· Working knowledge of test management software and SQL.nAbility to document and troubleshoot errors.n· Experience of reporting build health and maintaining bug backlog in TFS, Jira or similar.n· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desirablen· Degree or equivalent in an IT/Engineering discipline.
