Role Responsibility:


Reporting directly to the Workshop Manager, the
Apprentice Plant Fitter will be based in a workshop environment carrying out repairs, service's, inspections and preventive maintenance on both plant machinery and equipment.

On a day to day basis, the responsibilities of the
Apprentice Plant Fitter will include the following (not exhaustive):

  • Ensuring servicing and maintenance are in accordance with manufacturers recommendations and instructions
  • Working on the management of vehicle servicing schedules
  • Keeping downtime to a minimum with timely and safe adherence to the servicing plan
  • Complying to all relevant statutory legislation and the internal company Safety, Health and Environmental standards
  • Continuing to improve vehicle plant performance whilst maintaining safety, maintenance and asset reliability on, repairing/servicing vehicles/machines for various construction operations
  • Ensuring that you hold a stock of items that are in regular use and reordering or ordering specialist parts to ensure all servicing can be carried out
  • Strong commitment to safety practices and procedures.
  • Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
  • GCSE standard 93
