The role
As a Safety, Health and Environment Practitioner, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary.

You'll be part of a diverse team who operate in a busy, varied, exciting and dynamic industrial environment, positively influencing, SHE performance, behaviours and culture.

Day-to-day, you'll be providing SHE support to the submarine project and production repair and maintenance teams

  • Assist the SHE Lead in driving continual SHE improvement locally and within wider business
  • Implement the company SHE policies.
  • Develop, maintain, and deliver, health and safety reports, communications, policies, processes and arrangements.
  • Undertake scheduled targeted inspections.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Essential experience of the Safety, Health and Environment Practitioner

  • Extensive relevant health and safety experience in a hazardous industry (e.g. construction/ship repair), and ideally have a working knowledge of dockyard operations, the Royal Navy, or similar experiences
  • Demonstrable passion for SHE
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with other departments to deliver outcomes
  • Have the ambition to achieve chartered status with IOSH or a similar professional body.

Qualifications for the Safety, Health and Environment Practitioner

  • Hold as a minimum a NEBOSH certificate (or equivalent level 3 qualification) and or is working towards a NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health (or an equivalent level 6 qualification).
