The Hillingdon Hospital NHS Trust is a busy district general hospital situated near to London's Heathrow Airport.

The work is interesting and varied, the pace is fast but we can offer you a friendly and supportive environment with an excellent record of commitment to continuing professional development together with all the benefits of working for a Foundation Trust.

Our theatre suite at The Mount Vernon has 4 theatres and 1 recovery unit. The specialities include orthopaedics, urology, general and ophthalmic.
Our theatre suite at Hillingdon Hospital has 7 theatres and 1 recovery unit. The specialities include orthopaedics, urology, gynaecology, general, ophthalmic, upper GI, colorectal and robotics.

You will be fully supported in your role by the Theatre Sisters and the general manager for theatres, anaesthetics and pre-operative assessmentA commitment to participate in shift work, on-calls, nights and weekends is essential.

To scrub for a variety of surgical specialities in line with the below responsibilities.

Participate in all ward activities as an effective team member, supporting the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse and Sister, taking delegated team leadership responsibilities.

To assess care needs, and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

To teach and supervise qualified and unqualified staff, and to act as a role model to junior staff.

The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital in the London Borough of Hillingdon and offers a wide range of services including accident and emergency, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics and maternity services.

The Trust's services at Mount Vernon Hospital include routine day surgery, delivered at a modern treatment centre, a minor injuries unit and outpatient clinics.

Ensure that research based nursing care within the ward is of a high standard and in accordance with Hospital policies and procedures.

By monitoring patient care, supervising juniors, and evaluating the care that is delivered.

Maintain individual patient care plans, evaluating and updating them asnecessary to ensure that the patients physical, social and psychological needs are met.

Ensure that all patients nutritional and personal hygiene needs are met.

Adhere to strict compliance with Trust Infection Control policies and procedures and ensure junior staff and learners are aware of their responsibility, observe staff practice and advise/educate as necessary.

Assist with the introduction and implementation of new ideas and methods of nursing care, including research methods.
To actively seek the views of patients, carers and relatives on the care and services provided.
IV cannulation, phlebotomy.
Current RN/AHP, registration with NMC/HCPC any other relevant post registration qualifications
