Location:
Trent Acres - Trax, Bridgtown, Cannock

Hours: 24 hours per week; 3 days a week

Salary:
£35,000 per annum pro rata

Contract:
Permanent, Term Time only

Are you a SENCO committed to improving the lives of children and young people?
We are looking for an experienced SENCO to join our fantastic team at Trent Acres - Trax, Bridgtown, Cannock.

As a SENCO, you will deliver fun based learning to pupils according to their educational needs, in a way that maximises children's achievement and ability to develop.


The post holder will be expected to lead the support of learning across the school and co-ordinate flexible, person-centred programmes of study for designated individuals and groups of young people with SEMH and complex needs.

To take responsibility in developing the holistic provision and interventions for pupils in consultation with the Head teacher that will support the progress for all children.

Person specifications

  • Skills and experience demanded of a successful teacher
  • A sound understanding of the complexity of special educational needs
  • The ability to build on the good practice in the school
  • Qualified teacher status
  • To have completed the SENCo qualification
  • Experience of working with pupils with emotional & behavioural difficulties who may have challenging behaviour

About us


Options Trent Acres is a newly opened service and situated on a 12 acre site offering an integrated residential, education and care package for children between 8 and 19 years with a wide range of complex needs, Autism and associated learning disabilities The school is purpose built, modern and welcoming with a range of specialist learning areas including an indoor and outdoor riding school and outdoor gymnasium.

Children also have the opportunity to work with our horses, donkeys, goats, alpaca and chickens.


As part of your role, you may be expected to work across both of our sites Trent Acres and Trent Acres - Trax.

This is an exciting time to join us as we are currently recruiting due to the expansion of our school, both sites are within close proximity of one another.


Our service is in within easy reach of Stoke, Derby, Telford, Stafford, Lichfield, Burntwood, Rugeley, Burton-on-Trent, Tamworth, Uttoxeter and surrounding towns.

For over 16 years Options Autism have provided care and education to children, young people and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties.
