Business Overview:

Sony UK Technology Centre is a division of Sony Europe B.V. We are the only manufacturing centre for Sony in Europe and provide contracting manufacturing solutions for other business. Further, we are the home of a Sony customer service centre, a Business Incubation Centre and much more.

The heart of today's operation at Pencoed is centred on the manufacture of high technology Broadcast and Professional Cameras and Systems for worldwide markets including the latest industry leading 4K technology.

Cameras and equipment produced in Pencoed can be found in sports stadiums, studios, and outside broadcast units around the world.


Role Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating relevant Production activities to fulfil daily and weekly objectives
  • Supporting the team members and ensuring that they have the tools and resources to carry out their roles efficiently and effectively
  • Develop cross functionality throughout the team by devising plans and conducting appropriate training activities for all team players
  • Understanding the Operational Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and how to contribute to the achievement of the key metrics for the department
  • Upholding 5S standards and controls; motivating and inspiring the shift team to follow
  • Ensuring that any Quality or Production concerns are escalated to the Line Manager

Essential Criteria:

  • This person needs to be a strong team player, with the ability to communicate at all levels within the organisation and have the drive and ambition for success
  • This role requires excellent leadership, coaching skills, decision making & problemsolving techniques
  • An excellent work ethic
  • Computer literate

Desirable Criteria:

  • Supervisory experience, or experience of leading a team
  • Experience of working in a fastpaced manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of HSE and Quality systems
