Experience

  • Previous Commis Chef experience
  • Previous experience in a culinary or hospitality setting

Responsibilities

  • To be responsible for preparing and presenting quality food and all final products leaving the kitchen are to the Company Standard
  • To report any issues with food quality and freshness from suppliers or the central kitchen to the Senior chef
  • Assist with inventory management follow the Stock Labelling (DOT system) and Rotation System (FIFO) to ensure the products are identifiable and used in the correct order
  • To be aware of correct temperatures for deliveries, storage and cooking and recording them on the temp log sheets daily
  • To actively support Senior Chef in implementing any menu changes following the Company procedures
  • To work supervised in preparation of food in all areas of the kitchens, supporting others as necessary, depending on the business requirements
  • Wash dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment
  • To work in an efficient and effective manner to provide a very high standard of food production.
  • To safely use all dangerous machinery and kitchen equipment in accordance with Manufacturer's instructions.
  • Dispose of waste properly
  • To be aware of stock, delivery and rotation systems and adhere to these as required.
  • Perform all kitchen cleaning rotas, ensuring all kitchen areas are clean tidy and free from rubbish at all times.
  • To ensure all fridges, freezers and storage areas are kept clean and tidy, and all stock stored is in accordance with food hygiene regulations
  • To attend all training sessions as and when required and complete all online training courses within the agreed timescale
  • To ensure that all food production areas and kitchen equipment are maintained in a good operational state before and after shifts, that high standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained at all times, and that they are secure.
  • Follow all safety and hygiene regulations.
