Job Title: Associate Vice President, Treasury Operations

This job opportunity is for an ambitious individual looking to join a newly established group within Investment Operations at Ares Management. This is a chance to be part of building a Core Center of Excellence that will provide support across all lines of business within Ares.

The ideal candidate will be tasked with managing daily liquidity, cash forecasting, and advancing Treasury workflows and technology. We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented individual with a knack for defining, designing, and enhancing treasury functions.

To excel in this role, the candidate must have a proven track record in operational liquidity management within the financial services industry, especially in alternative investment management settings. Additionally, they should possess the ability to think strategically, act tactically, and collaborate effectively with various teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Bank Account Management
    • Sourcing and opening bank accounts, including required currency accounts and managing sweep options on excess cash
    • Supporting activities for overnight monitoring of cash management functions
    • Resolving cash account exceptions with banks
    • Monitoring data feeds between systems
  • Liquidity Forecasting and Stakeholder Management
    • Preparing liquidity forecasts for Accounting and Financial Planning teams
    • Managing all inputs and reconciliations for forecasts

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in top-tier global capital markets or investment management firms
  • Experience with Alternative Asset, Fixed Income, or Leveraged Loan preferred
  • Knowledge of various data management platforms
  • Experience with diverse investment vehicles such as Institutional Separate Accounts, Mutual Funds, CLOs, etc.
  • Intermediate-level technical skills (VBA, SQL, Excel, etc.)
  • Experience working with financial intermediaries
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Flexibility in working hours to collaborate across time zones
