Purpose of the Role:
As a Strategic Buyer you will be responsible for**:

  • Strategic Buyer carrying out procurement tasks such as contract management
  • Implementing strategic sourcing strategies and process improvements
  • The strategic Buyer will also be analysing the market looking at trends to understand demand
  • Ideally metal elements experience alloy; nickel, titanium, steel, platinum 'rare earths and platinum group metals'
  • Able to work with tradable market: traders small precious or industrial metals, financial centres, London Metal exchange
  • Understanding supplier KPIs, SLAs, and their terms & conditions
  • Contract management: contractual terms, negotiations, pricing
  • Ideally Industrial background in metals is preferred but other relevant raw material market/commodity experience can be considered
  • Product knowledge (metals) or other relevant raw material i.e., plastics, glass, or food ingredients
  • Strategic analysis experience
  • Ideally MCIPs qualified or equivalent
  • Experience with SAP
