While we see this vacancy as a full-time position, we know that 'normal' office hours aren't always doable, so we have a Flex+ policy in place which allows for core hours and some homeworking during the working week.

You would be expected to be fully mobile and travel to other Mercia offices and investee companies as required.

In this role you would have responsibility for:

  • Supporting with the completion of investments including preparation of investment documentation, management of the due diligence process, AML documentation and coordination of the legal agreements.
  • Initially with support if needed, you will be identifying, selecting and appraising suitable investment loans, to achieve annual investment targets for the fund.
  • You would be supported in undertaking business development activities and selfgenerating proposals, building new relationships and actively promoting the fund.
  • Ensuring that service level standards and turnaround times are always met.
  • Ensuring that regulatory and customer requirements are always complied with.
  • Preparing internal and external reports to key stakeholders.
  • Supporting the postinvestment monitoring of investments.

About you:

  • Ideally you will be from a lending and/or regulatory background.
  • While there will be support from the team to get up to speed, you'll be a selfstarter, with the ability to multitask.
  • You'll be commercially aware and able to demonstrate a sound level of judgment.
  • You'll have strong analytical skills, with a high level of financial awareness.
  • An effective networker, you'll be able to build good relationships with our investees, clients and contacts.
  • Being a good team player goes without saying here
  • You'll need to be a confident communicator both verbally and in your written work.
  • Given the nature of this role, we are looking for you to be fully mobile and in possession of a valid UK Driving Licence.
  • A good working knowledge of CRM systems/databases and Microsoft Office products is helpful.
