This is a great opportunity for a Junior Actuarial Analyst with a numerical degree whether that is within Actuarial Science, Economics, Math, Statistics, or a related field, who will assist our team of actuaries and brokers. This will involve handling large data sets and combining with industry metrics to build complex models to evaluate risk and factors that affect loss liabilities and capital. In addition, the role would support maintenance of our in-house benchmarking software, and development of the actuarial innovation pipeline. The role would involve having contact with clients on reinsurance actuarial services.

The ideal candidate will already be in a similar role, undertaking their exams and looking for an opportunity to join a Global market leader which offers excellent career opportunities.

Although reinsurance experience would be advantageous, we are considering candidates from other backgrounds as well.

We will rely on you to:

  • Prepare data and consult with actuaries and brokers.
  • Populate actuarial templates – experience and exposure models. Prepare and parameterise data for MetaRisk suite of tools.
  • Contribute to team meetings and overall team ethos.
  • Deliver actuarial work in a clear coherent and consistent way and adhere to peer review actuarial peer review and compliance.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with colleagues, reinsurers, and clients to support new business development within reinsurance actuarial services.
  • Assist in project or client work through the utilization of any level team member.
  • Sit the Institute of Actuaries exams, although we will consider individuals who no longer wish to pursue the exams.

What you need to have:

  • Demonstrable experience within a similar Actuarial role
  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, Economics, Math, Statistics, or related field
  • Technical experience of working in pricing, reserving or capital modelling
  • Competent Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Successful management of workload; with an ability to manage expectations.
