Job summary

We are recruiting for a Lead Nurse in Endoscopy for our two modern Endoscopy Units, who shares our vision to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

There are 6 endoscopy procedure rooms and we are looking for someone that wants to developed integrated patient care and be involved in the development of new procedures.

Maintaining JAG accreditation is a key part of the role ensuring that all GRS standards are maintained and evidenced.

Main duties of the job

You will manage and lead the Endoscopy unit at the Lister Hospital and QE11 with responsibility for ensuring high quality, cost-effective healthcare. They will also be involved in the strategic review of clinical services as appropriate. The post holder will also be responsible for implementing a clearly defined integrated approach to patient care encompassing new treatments and evidence-based care.

Maintaining JAG accreditation is a key part of the role ensuring that all GRS standards are not only maintained but evidenced on a yearly basis through annual uploads, and 5 yearly visits.

You will be responsible to ensure that endoscopy equipment is safe for use and service contracts are in place. The procurement and leasing of equipment must be maintained to ensure endoscopy is safe and keeping up to date with technological advances.

Deal effectively with written and verbal complaints taking rapid action to rectify difficulties immediately wherever this is possible. Investigate and formulate responses to written complaints within the Trust Policy timescales and ensure that action is taken to avoid recurrence where appropriate.

Qualifications / Training

Essential

Registered nurse educated to Degree level Post registration qualification in specialty Teaching and mentoring qualification Evidence of professional continuous development and portfolio of learning Willingness and ability to work toward Masters

Leadership or management module Master degree

Previous Experience

Significant clinical experience as a senior nurse within the endoscopy field or as a Nurse Endoscopist Experience in project management Experience of leading service change Experience of managing a budget Experience of managing and/or leading a team
