Role Overview:


Working within the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub as part of Community Safety Services, the post holder will provide business support to management and officers, working closely with staff from Oldham Council and other partnership organisations.


Key Responsibilities:

Within this role you will:

  • Deal with telephone calls, internal and external, in an appropriate manner, take messages and forward them on to the relevant person, as required
  • Take informal and formal minutes as appropriate, record action points, transcribe tapes / dictaphone notes or audio typing, where there could be multiple voices e.g. PACE tapes, where appropriate
  • Produce information in various formats including letters, memos, reports, charts, maps, tables and undertake mailmerges using wordprocessing packages and branded templates where applicable
  • Maintain effective and efficient office and information systems, including compliance with external requirements where necessary
  • Order goods and services, raise and process cheques and invoices as directed, using the Council's Financial Management Information System, and other associated activities

Key Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need as a minimum:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills to undertake the tasks and duties of the role
  • Experience of using computer packages for wordprocessing, spreadsheets and databases
  • Experience of teamworking to work effectively with others and meet deadlines and goals
  • Experience of completing tasks to deadlines, reprioritising own work if necessary
