Apprentice Hairstylist

Avesta is a family owned and independent hair and beauty salon in the heart of Salford Quays and Media City Uk.

As a top rated high street salon with a great client base, we have got a fantastic opportunity for an apprentice who wants to work as part of a great team with reputation for excellence.

Full training will be provided and you will initially be trained to NVQ Level 2 whilst receiving your apprentice salary.

We are looking for a creative and PASSIONATE individual who learns quickly and has a strong desire to work to the highest professional standards.

As we are a new salon with a growing reputation and client base, you will be working in a fast paced environment.

You will also have the opportunity to work alongside a team of experienced and award winning stylists who will be guiding you through your training and development.

The position would suit a highly motivated individual who is passionate about hair and wants to be a member of our growing family.

Technical skills
The following technical skills will be developed during the apprenticeship during the in-salon training sessions:

• Reception duties.
• How to perform consultations.
• Shampoo and conditioning techniques.
• Fundamentals of traditional and modern cutting from beginner to advance level.
• Fundamentals of blow drying and straightening from beginner to advance level.
• Fundamentals of traditional and modern colouring from beginner to advance level.
• Hair care product knowledge.

Key Responsibilities
As your training and experience progresses you will be given the following responsibilities:

• Greeting clients as they arrive in the salon.
• Assisting with running the reception area and processing transactions.

- shampooing and conditioning techniques.

• Detailed knowledge of retail product ranges offered.
• Taking phone calls and booking appointments using the appointments system.
• Merchandising and inventory skills.
• Keeping salon and staff area clean and tidy.

Availability on weekends is mandatory.
