The Role


The School of Education, Communication and Language Sciences, Newcastle University, is delighted to advertise this exciting opportunity for a people orientated individual to join us as a Team Administrator in our Teaching and Learning Team.

You will work with the Learning and Teaching Coordinator to lead a team that provides a comprehensive administrative professional service to ensure the smooth and effective running of the School's taught programmes and its learning and teaching function.

Key Accountabilities Provide comprehensive administrative support for associated staff in all areas of taught studies to ensure that School, Faculty and University policies, deadlines and standards are met Responsible for determining and inputting amendments to annual documentation such as modules and regulations, seeking advice from the Learning and Teaching Coordinator and academic colleagues where necessary Act as expert user of the various University systems, and train other staff where appropriate Responsible for dealing with student notification of absence requests and for responding to information requests linked to external audits, e.g.

Home Office and professional bodies.

In addition, liaison with relevant personnel regarding information required for completion of international sponsored student reports Responsible for supporting module assessment set-up in systems.

Liaising with academic staff to gather information about deadlines and Turnitin/Canvas requirements Responsible for the oversight of exam papers, ensuring they are prepared, collated and submitted to deadlines in the prescribed format, including liaison with External Examiners.

In addition, administration of exams and Boards of Examiners processes, including chasing missing marks or anomalies in marks Responsible for collation of timetable requirements in agreed timescales and in liaison with the Learning & Teaching Coordinator, managing the practicalities of proposed timetables and advising academic staff regarding requirements, constraints and practicalities of requests Support the Learning & Teaching Coordinator Teaching student induction arrangements, booking rooms and creating timetables, liaising with academic staff and teaching and learning team Support events, i.e., Open Days, Post Application Visit Days, Recruitment Events, collating marketing material and coordinating CRM correspondence, liaising with academics, and contributing to an excellent student experience Responsible for the oversight of the student evaluations process, and extraction of reports from the relevant system Provide secretarial support for allocated programmes and committees.

Preparing agendas, supporting documentation, taking minutes, and ensuring follow up actions are taken Provide support for internal and external reviews i.e., Portfolio Review, Learning and Teaching Review, HCPC, BPS, Ofsted, collating documentation where required Manage the ECLS Resource Centre, ensuring all activities are completed by the teaching and learning team, so that the Resource Centre operates in an effective and efficient manner Provide support for the Learning and Teaching Manager Manage the allocation of duties and workload of staff where relevant.

The Team Administrator will act on behalf of the Learning & Teaching Coordinator as requested along an agreed set of guiding principles Any other duties within the scope and general nature of the grade which may be required; assisting other staff at times of heavy workload flexibly and co-operatively within the School to provide a co-ordinated and efficient support service
