About the role:

Your daily work:

  • Writing highquality customerfocused proposal documents, including producing, editing and proofreading written content.
  • Defining a writing style for the response, as well as its size so that they are appropriate for a given client.
  • Ensuring consistency of style, language and tone throughout the document so it reads as if written by one person.
  • Ensuring consistency of abbreviations, terms and alignment with the client's language.
  • Actively participating in solution design sessions, story boarding, brainstorming and development of strategic themes and solutions. Ensuring content is accurate and fits the question and scoring criteria. Suggesting relevant evidence, images and graphics, in line with documented standards.
  • Building and developing relationships with a variety of business sector teams.
  • Working with contributors to simplify complex technical material into legible prose.
  • Working with bid managers to ensure all writing is prepared in line with tender programme requirements and aligned with company bid management standards. Being involved in the wider submissions process, as required.
  • Participating in key review meetings / final document review, content signoff and document production.
  • Supporting process improvement. This will include collecting or producing best practice information, technique guides; template answers and style sheets. Sharing knowledge and coaching teams on best practices.
  • Gathering proposal content for potential reuse and adding it to the bid library. Collecting and writing down evidence from projects, including case study development.

Must-have skills & experience:

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and copywriting skills, including the use of Microsoft. Office suite and other desktop publishing software packages.
  • Excellent command of the English language.
  • Strong persuasive writing skills.
  • Ability to maintain client focus, analyse and understand their business requirements.
  • Willingness and ability to travel throughout the UK & abroad on occasion.
  • Adaptable to changing requirements and flexible to cope with time pressure and meet deadlines to deliver high quality submissions on time.
  • A naturally inquisitive nature to challenge ideas and provide new innovative solutions.
  • Display a creative flair in their writing and ensuring high standards of accuracy and document control.
  • Persistence and determination in preventing a bid from failing, as well as maintaining quality even when under pressure.
  • Experience in coordinating and updating a knowledgebase system (e.g. bid library).

Nice-to-have skills & experience:

  • Proven track record in the IT sector or a similar role, preferably with IT solutioning skills.
  • German language.
