Activities of the team/department that this role will operate in;

To carry out planing / cold milling works safely, and to a high standard on site at all times

Purpose of the role and your responsibilities;


  • Safety
- to fully comply with all company Health, Safety and Environmental Policies and procedures:


  • Safety
  • to ensure planing lorries are safely loaded and correctly secured before leaving site, i.e.

to comply with legal weight limits:

Maintenance - to ensure plant and equipment is properly maintained on a daily basis and as required throughout the working shift:


  • Waste
  • to ensure planing is carried out to the correct depth and profile specified by the client and to help minimise asphalt wastage, which can significantly impact on both cost and environment, i

e 'Carbon footprint':

Quality Assurance - to help ensure full compliance with Eurovia's Formula Road V2.

0 Quality protocols, client specification, and to ensure a "Right 1st Time"approach is adopted at all times:

Paperwork - to accurately complete all daily record sheets, daily plant inspection and defect reports, including any other report sheets, and submit to Surfacing Foreman / Contracts Supervisor on completion:


  • Training & Development
  • to attend programmed training as and when required:

EFQM / TWWW - insure understanding and compliance with all company systems/policies:


  • To carry out any reasonable task as requested by a member of management:

Plant Security, Damage & Defects - to help ensure plant is safely parked and secured on site, with damage and defects duly recorded and reported immediately to Foreman / Contracts Supervisor

Formal qualifications required;

Full driving licence

Good general education

CSCS Operative

NVQ Level 2 or above

MPQC operator competency (Planer)
