Hydrotherapy Worker salary:
£10.50 per hour.

About the Hydrotherapy Worker:


Allerton's hydrotherapy service has a vacancy for an enthusiastic individual to provide lifeguard services and who has both administration and customer service experience.

The hydrotherapy service provides support for people looking for rehabilitation and activities utilising the benefits of the hydrotherapy pool and is available to both professional services and the general public.

The role involves booking appointments, experience of electronic booking systems is desirable. The post will include face to face and telephone conversations so effective communication skills are essential.

You will be required to assist customers with accessing the pool by hoisting them in and out of the pool and undertaking manual handling.

You will lead on maintaining safety in the pool area by undertaking housekeeping tasks to ensure the environment is safe and meets infection control standards.

You must be a strong swimmer who has or is willing to undertake a Level 3 Poolside Assistance qualification in order to help the clients if required in an emergency.

You will also be responsible for maintaining, ordering and storing the pool chemicals correctly. You will be required to undertake chemical training tests which require proficient mathematical skill


You will be required to work during the hours of 9 am until 5 pm Monday to Friday with some flexibility that could include some evenings, and/or weekends.

You will also be required to promote the service offered by working with the Service Manager and the Marketing Team to actively market this valuable resource.


A typical day as a Hydrotherapy Worker:

  • Be responsible for all chemicals used in the health and safety and cleanliness of the pool and its environment and the stock management.
  • Ensure the pool and its environment are always kept clean and hygienic.
  • Ensure a safe and supportive environment for customers under your care.
  • The role holder must attain and retain a Level 3 Poolside Assistance qualification.
  • To assist any customer to use the hydrotherapy pool in a safe manner whilst these individuals are supported in its environment.
  • To assist customers of the hydrotherapy service to feel safe and secure when using the facility and to assist on any occasion when a customer of the service or a support member of staff requires assistance.
  • Enabling and encouraging customers using the service to actively use our hydrotherapy service to increase their selfmotivation, muscle activity, pain reduction, and general health.
  • To ensure that all payments for the provision of service are taken by cash or card.
  • To ensure the opening and closing of the service during the agreed opening hours and in line with health and safety guidelines and security guidelines.

Skills as a Hydrotherapy Worker:

  • Previous experience of working in a similar role within a similar poolside/hydrotherapy role is advantageous.
  • Excellent organisational skills and adaptability to working in a fastpaced environment.
  • Excellent customer care skills (essential).
  • Knowledge of infection control (essential).
  • Basic computer skills (essential).
