At Novus Gower, we are now seeking Essential Skills Tutor to join the youth education team at YOI Parc as Tutor in Essential Skills working
with student from 16-18 years of age. This is a Permanent role working 40 hours per week.**As the largest Further Education College in the UK, we're shaping an amazing future for our students. What we need from you

  • We are looking to hire a skilled and knowledgeable Essential Skills Tutor to provide supervision of your curriculum area, ensuring that you meet budget, quality and operational targets.
  • You will deliver high quality, learnerfocused education and provide a secure and friendly environment in order for your students to succeed.
  • In your role you will plan, lead and develop the curriculum area within the establishment to ensure compliance with the national curriculum framework, the integration of functional skills, best practice and quality targets.
  • You will be educated in English and Maths to a minimum of Level
  • Hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
  • Gain/hold and maintain a clean, enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to a career in teaching

  • Novus Gower offers an Entry Pension Scheme (Auto Enrolment) which is 5% of your pensionable pay, and Novus Gower as the employer contributes 3%. Subject to certain criteria, enrolment into this scheme will occur three months from the date of commencement.
  • After 6 months of service, you will be eligible to join the 'Novus Gower Group Pension Plan' (GPPP) Which is 4% of your pensionable pay, and Novus Gower as the employer contributes 5%.
