Insight Global are seeking an experienced Software Test Developer/Architect for a leading marine electronic manufacturing client. This position offers an opportunity to be at the forefront of quality assurance in software development, driving the success of products through rigorous testing and continuous improvement.

In this role, you will oversee the software testing process across various development and test teams. Your expertise will be pivotal in providing training and support for the adoption of best practices and tools for test automation. Your responsibilities extend to the meticulous triage of failing automated tests, identifying the root causes, and implementing fixes for bugs in the automation code. Your role involves the continuous maintenance of this infrastructure, guaranteeing its reliability and effectiveness for ongoing and future testing needs.

To excel in this role, a high level of proficiency in a software test environment is required. This includes significant experience with test automation tools and environments, as well as familiarity with emerging automation methods. Proficient scripting skills, particularly in languages such as Python, are essential for creating and maintaining effective automation scripts.

Moreover, excellent collaboration and communication skills are indispensable. A solution-oriented mindset and resourcefulness in addressing challenges will set you apart in this role.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years' experience in a software test environment
  • Extensive experience with both manual and automation testing, various test automation tools and environments
  • Experience with embedded software/systems
  • Significant scripting capabilities in Python
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to be on site in Fareham
