Pension Payroll Representative (Technical) - Mercer - Remote / Homeworker

Note:
This role can be based anywhere in the UK


The main purpose of this role is to lead on projects and initiatives as allocated by the Pension Payroll Manager.

Your work will focus primarily on technical and complex work, legislative demands, quality and auditing requirements, maintaining standards, adherence and implementation of best practice, system testing, development and automation, date cleanse and process improvements.

You will report to the Pension Payroll Manager.

We will rely on you to:

  • Manage the completion of all routine tasks, assisting in the completion of more complex Pension Payroll tasks and projects as required e.g., installations, cessations, and pension increases.
  • Undertake input, checking and peer review activities as directed
  • Continuous achievement of volume and quality targets set by the business.
  • To aid the performance of the team by ensuring the active use of MI reporting to monitor progress on a regular basis for member, client, and scheme event work.
  • Agree the performance targets for client delivery with the Pension Payroll Manager
  • Monitoring project income within own control. Work with your Administration Service Managers to ensure your client projects are delivered in accordance with the project plan and on budget.
  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities to generate additional revenue from your clients. Ensure client requests for additional work or scheme changes are identified and relevant costs calculated and confirmed.
  • Influence and coach junior colleagues to take ownership for service delivery on their clients

What you need to have:

  • Proven demonstrable pension payroll experience at the required technical and behavioural competency level
  • Relevant experience of supervising a small team
  • Ability to delegate, provide constructive feedback and identify development needs
  • Ability to perform complex payroll calculations to a high standard of accuracy
  • Full understanding of member processes. Advanced technical expert for the team(s) on scheme knowledge, taxation and systems being used
