You will be responsible for supporting the financial planning and analysis activities related to operating expenses within Busuu.

Reporting to, and working closely with, the FP&A Director, you will play a key part in driving insights, providing analysis, and developing financial models to support decision-making processes.

Forward-looking, creative and inquisitive; the ideal candidate helps to maintain, challenge and deliver our Financial Plan.

You will be comfortable collaborating with teams across the business, applying your financial and analytical mind-set to help meet our growth targets.

What does a Senior FP&A Analyst do at Busuu?

Financial Analysis:
Conduct in-depth analysis of operating expenses, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and cost drivers identification. Monitor actual performance against budget/forecast, identify variances, and provide explanations for differences.

Financial Modelling:
Develop and maintain financial models to assess the impact of various scenarios on operating expenses. Provide decision support to senior management through scenario analysis and sensitivity testing.
Prepare and distribute regular reports and presentations on operating expense performance, highlighting key insights and trends. Present findings to senior leadership and provide actionable recommendations.
Continuously evaluate and enhance financial planning and analysis processes related to operating expenses. Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency gains, in particular evolving our Adaptive implementation and reporting suite.

Stakeholder Management:
Collaborate with business partners across functions to understand their operating expense needs and provide financial support and insights as required

Ad-Hoc Analysis:
Support ad-hoc analysis and projects as requested by senior management, providing accurate and timely financial information and insights.
Inform leadership of financial risks and opportunities early; seek deep understanding of new performance developments; and maintain constant flow of information with Business and Finance partners
Balance critical finance deliverables with operational requests to meet all finance deadlines while supporting business partners.
What we're looking for in a Senior FP&A Analyst at Busuu
Qualified finance professional ACA/CFA (3+ years PQE) with analytical bias
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, with a focus on operating expenses analysis
Knowledge of GAAP and financial principles
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders
Strong analytical and financial modelling skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial planning software (NetSuite, Adaptive Planning)
SAP, Oracle, Netsuite) a must and BI tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI) are a plus.
Data-driven and commercially minded, with excellent communication skills
Demonstrated ability to meet strict deadlines while managing multiple projects
