Consultant Microbiologist

We are looking for an enthusiastic Consultant Microbiologist to work
in our Microbiology team. The post is based at the Royal Shrewsbury
Hospital and will also cover the Princess Royal Hospital, the Robert
Jones & Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital as well as community and
primary care services in Shropshire. Full time and part time

MAIN DUTIES OF THE JOB
The Department provides clinical microbiology services for around
500,000 people and includes bacteriology, mycology, serology and
molecular sections. The post holder will participate in providing a
comprehensive clinical, laboratory, diagnostic and consultative
microbiology and infection control service to the Trust and other
users of the service.

Applicants are required to hold FRCPath or equivalent, be on the GMC
Specialist Register (CCT in Microbiology or Microbiology and
Infectious Diseases) or within 6 months of their expected date of
receipt of a CCT at the time of interview. The post attracts 10 PAs
and there is a 1 in 4 on-call commitment. Applications are welcomed
