EU Road Freight Sales Manager – Essex

Our client, who are an international freight forwarder are looking for a Freight Sales Manager to join them to run their sales team.

Based in Essex, you will be tasked to manage the team of BDM's, internal Sales and Sales Administrators by helping grow their business within their European Road Freight division.

Job type: Permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday – 08:00am to 17:00pm

Day-to-day

  • Develop relationships with potential clients by engaging in networking activities, making cold calls, and conducting client visits.
  • Analyse market trends and stay up-to-date on industry developments.
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations to clients and stakeholders.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients and suppliers.
  • Track sales performance and make data-driven decisions to improve sales outcomes.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve company targets.
  • Manage a team of sales representatives and provide training and coaching as needed.
  • Build and maintain relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Coordinate with other departments such as operations, customs and Transport to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated success in sales within the European Road Freight industry.
  • Proficient understanding of Road Freight operations
  • Good experience in FTL/LTL, import/export regulations, and customs procedures.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Self-driven and target-oriented, with the capacity to operate both autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
  • Readiness to travel as necessary for client meetings and industry events.
