A great opportunity has arisen to join a well-established, successful local building and construction company with a proven track record for delivering award winning projects across the North West for an international portfolio of developers, public sector clients and blue-chip companies across residential, commercial and industrial sectors.
Reporting to the Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for supporting the pre-construction team in the preparation of new build estimates to secure projects from a range of £0.
Review of drawings, contract documents, design information and other project documentation to estimate costsSourcing, negotiating and obtaining the best prices and quotes from suppliers and subcontractors
Use of estimating software to send out enquiries and analyse returns
Attending meetings and workshops with key supply chain subcontractors to input to tenders as required
Providing input into decisions over whether to bid for the project
Producing robust cost plans for projects to engage with clients on negotiated projects
Working closely with key members of the project team (such as the pre-construction manager) and liaising with clients and suppliers
Working closely with pre-construction to ensure tender costs fit within the Pre-construction overheads budget
Experienced estimator with construction contractor experience
HND or bachelor's degree in an industry-relevant subject
Experienced in estimating software ConQuest/Causeway
Commercial awareness
Knowledge to include value engineering, first principles, production of quantities, design, pre-construction, project management with a strong emphasis on cost and risk management
The role offers a highly competitive salary up to £60,000 plus car allowance, company bonus, pension, private healthcare and 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
