Estimator Position - Social Housing - Planned Maintenance

We are partnering with a leading company specialized in Social Housing Repairs and Maintenance in the search for a dynamic and result-oriented Estimator to become part of their team in North West London. They are open to candidates considering a career transition into Estimating or those ready to take on more responsibilities as an Assistant.

Collaborating closely with the Bid Team and Business Development department, you will be in charge of overseeing the pricing strategy across various bids, adapting to the specific timeframe set for each bid, and taking charge of pricing strategies for successful planned maintenance, decent homes, and reactive maintenance tenders aimed at housing associations, local councils, and RSL's.

Key Responsibilities of the Estimator Role:

  • Prepare tenders, bids, and budget proposals assigned by the Tendering Manager / Estimating Director for final review by the relevant directors.
  • Furnish all necessary details for the bid submission.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors/suppliers to secure competitive and accurate quotations for specialist work components.
  • Conduct site visits to verify project details in client contract documents and gather additional information required for bid preparation.
  • Collaborate with the Programme Manager to ensure all essential information is available for the final bid.
  • Participate in pre-contract handover meetings, bid meetings, and client meetings as needed during the tender process.

Requirements for the Estimator Role:

  • Demonstrated expertise in developing commercial pricing for multimillion-pound bid submissions in the fields of Social Housing Planned Maintenance, Decent Homes, and Reactive Repairs Markets.
  • Proficiency in various Procurement Processes, including 2-stage tenders.
  • Familiarity with estimating software systems.
  • Identification of tender risks and opportunities from practical, commercial, and contractual perspectives.
  • Preparation of notes and clarifications for tender submissions.
  • Proven capability in pricing tender Preliminaries.
  • Aptitude for resource planning in tenders based on extensive Supply Chain experience.
  • Consistent and strong career background.
