The Role Objective


The HR Admin Apprentice is responsible for delivering efficient administrative support that facilitates the smooth running of the HR Operations department which is held centrally at GroupM to support to the operating companies within it.

The HR Admin Apprentice must first and foremost be the guardian of administrative procedure, contributing ideas for continuous improvement. There will also be opportunity to be involved in HR projects and initiatives on an ad hoc basis.

The overall objective is to continually raise the profile of HR positively within the Company and create an excellent people experience throughout our employee lifecycle.


A key part of this role is being able to handle a fast moving, constantly changing environment, and with a smile This role is central to maintaining a cohesive and positive working environment within the HR team, so being hands on and ready to help with whatever comes up is essential.

You will sit within the GroupM People team and work centrally at GroupM in the HR Operations team.

This team supports all legal entities within the group on a day-to-day basis to ensure that we can create a people experience that is consistent and rewarding for all.

You will be part of that and support the journey of our people including onboarding and offboarding i.e., the complete employee lifecycle.

This apprenticeship will be a 24 month contract with the aim to move into a permanent position after your qualification, dependent on business openings.


The HR Operations team is made up of our HR Coordinators, Senior HR Coordinators, HR Advisors and HR Ops Partners - plus some specialists in HR Data Analysts and Global Mobility Partner.

Plus, we have our Payroll function within the central HR Operations team and then People Partners who support the strategic growth from a people perspective within the business.

As you can see, this team holds a vast array of scope for progress and development within a complex organisation at GroupM and its agencies, and the wider WPP network.


Responsibilities

  • To support a busy HR Operations team with daytoday HR duties
  • Assisting with a full range of HR tasks throughout the employee life cycle, for example: contract drafting, onboarding, new starters and leavers process, documentation creation, mail merges for salary and bonus letters, updating HR trackers, probation letters, right to work checks, reference checks, and management of HR systems and data i.e. inputting of accurate data into HRIS and spreadsheets
  • Deal with general HR queries via the central HR Mailboxes
  • Raising POs and Supplier Set Up through Finance system
  • Supporting the HR Data Analyst and HR Coordinators with reporting requests
  • Ad hoc administration to support HR project work
  • General HR administrative tasks to support the team
  • Ensuing compliance around Sox and GDPR
