About the Trust
We deliver district general services to 2.5m residents of Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, and its surrounding communities.

Our specialist services allow us to deliver care to 4.5m people from across the East Midlands and nationally for a handful of services.

QMC is where our Emergency Department (ED), Major Trauma Centre and the Nottingham Children's Hospital are based. It is also home to the University of Nottingham's School of Nursing and Medical School.

Nottingham City Hospital is our planned care site, where our cancer centre, heart centre and stroke services are based, and where some of our emergency admissions units are located.

Ropewalk House is where we provide a range of outpatient services, including hearing services.

What you'll be responsible for:

  • Complete the necessary documentation and PAS data inputs for the admission, transfer and discharge of patients. Using the PAS system check the ward bed state and record all patient activity, liaising with Admissions to ensure that this data is correct.
  • Whilst the patient is on the ward, create and maintain Patient Case Notes following procedures, regularly check patient records to ensure that all loose papers, history sheets, investigation reports have been appropriately secured and filed in the correct order. If the case notes leave the ward with the patient during investigations, ensure that the notes are returned.
  • When a patient is transferred or discharged, ensure that the case notes and X-Rays are complete, and all loose papers have been filed in order. When the patients are transferred or discharged record movements in the case note tracking system on PAS.
  • Ensure late investigation results are married up with any case notes still on the ward. Alternatively, identify where notes are using the PAS Case Note Tracking and dispatch late results either to this location or to the relevant Consultant's medical secretary.

You'll learn the following whilst working at the trust:

  • An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS
  • Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
  • A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

You'll have the following skills/experience:

  • Excellent communication skills
- both verbal and written

  • Microsoft office skills
  • Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Previous admin/ reception experience
  • Previous experience within the NHS
  • Previous NUH systems knowledge and experience
