Procurement Lead - Coatbridge:

MAIN DUTIES:

The job holder will be responsible to manage the tactical day to day Procurement activities, adhering compliance with the SPL processes/procedures and support the Procurement and Supply Chain Management Strategy.

Line Management responsibilities as well as managing adhoc projects for the sites across the UK.

  • Oversee the subcontract, Direct & Indirect procurement process for P&SCM requirements for the SPL projects and Central Team in accordance with the project P&SCM strategy and SPL processes and procedures.
  • Participate in relevant Project Meetings.
  • Input into required amendments/variations to the P&SCM Strategy.
  • Leading a team of 3 Procurement Specialists and delegating tasks where appropriate.
  • Identify areas for improvement to continually drive performance and business results.
  • Take ownership of reporting function and requirements for the Sub
- contract, Direct & Indirect procurement activities for the SPL Projects and Central Team, spend forecasting, supplier performance and improvement plans, sustainability reporting and client-based reports.

  • Consolidate data relating to supplier performance and managing this through the account review process.
  • Liaise with project delivery team to assist with the resolution of supply chain issues as and when required.
  • Ensure compliance to SPL and Central mandated and preferred supply chain agreements (Group Procurement Agreements).
  • Monitor the supply market to identify potential new suppliers/products and meeting with suppliers to advance any innovation.

THE PERSON:

  • Substantial project and central buying experience within a Project related environment.
  • The individual will need to demonstrate a proven track record within leading the Direct & Indirect procurement process and delivery of activities within a major project environment.
  • The role will require an individual who is able to quickly establish performance led, long term supplier relationships focusing on value for money, service and product quality and continuous improvement to drive competitive advantage for SPL.
  • Willing to undertake further development training.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Good levels of numeracy, organisational and communication skills.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Computerliterate.

  • The individual will need to demonstrate a proven track record within leading the Subcontract, Direct & Indirect procurement process and delivery of activities within a major project environment.
  • The role will require an individual who is able to quickly establish performance led, long term supplier relationships focusing on value for money, service and product quality and continuous improvement to drive competitive advantage for SPL.
