Typically this involves handling the bulk of the device replacements including all discretionary and some break/fix replacements as well as deployments required by an existing projects where time and resource permits.
Working closely with the packaging team to assist in discovery, testing and deployment of images and packages.
The deployment role entails the use of several existing tools in order to assess the estate and identify devices due to be upgraded, assessing the appropriate device required for a specific role or function.
Where a new device is being assessed this role will be key in the selection and testing of such devices.
Build and deployment of EUC devices and associated peripherals of in (Testing of new images and application packages, including updates.
Documentation of image and application deployment procedures.
Assist project team with device deployment.
Assist project team with large/complex moves.
Assist site team with deployment troubleshooting.
Managed certified data destruction process on selected devices(EG: Blancco).
Manage asset disposal through Trust approved procedures.
Use of an enterprise image management/packaging tool such as SCCM or similar.
Strong interpersonal skills in relation to end users and other technical support teams.
Ability to both interpret and explain complex IT issues and communicate these in a clear way to staff at all levels of the organisation.
5 years plus experience of a customer facing IT support role at second line or higher including extensive experience of build and deployment operations, end user device fault resolution and diagnosis.
~ Application and network support experience advantageous~ Understanding of the IT function in a Hospital and how information technology can deliver benefit to Patients and Clinicians.
