Our client based in Hampshire are searching for a Logistics Specialist on a 6 month fixed term contract to join their business in a new role for the company.
Job RoleRequirements
- Primary Logistics escalation contact for our client (internal & external)
- Drive performance of distribution, freight suppliers and partners to maximise ontimeinfull performance & value for money
- Optimise logistics processes to deliver excellent customer service
- Ensure full legal compliance
- Resolve customer complaints, identifying root cause to prevent reoccurrence
- Coaching & mentoring support to stakeholder departments to ensure logístical protocols are met on imports, exports & traded goods
- Provide leadership & guidance to coordinators to deliver all aspects of their role description (Export & Import section below)
- Work with Customer Experience to organise dedicated shipments for urgent orders and large shipments
- Export queries from other departments
- Obtaining freight rate for quotes on our CRM system
- Escalating issues with UK and export freight forwarder and couriers
- Checking Invoice for all export shipments including samples, site to Site & external export documents
- Allocating stock to order as an when they are not auto allocated.
- Work with Sales and Purchasing Traded Items
- Ensure smooth running of full import process, from initial order placement through to final receipt, including all associated tasks
- Use of clearing agents' portals to maintain visibility
- Import queries from other departments
- Liaising with purchasing to make sure they are aware of any discrepancies on paperwork
- Checking of Import Invoices
- Escalating issues with our freight forwarder and clearing agent
- Creating return paperwork for goods that have been rejected by LH
- Aware of changing regulations in importing goods
- Excellent working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Certificate of customs competency
- Advanced customs practitioner
- Comprehensive experience in Exports with an emphasis on Dangerous Goods
- An indepth knowledge of international courier systems including procedures for customs clearances and service areas for varying types of materials
- An indepth knowledge of Freight Forwarding being able to provide advice and support to others for extraordinary requirements
- Excellent communication skills with friendly and professional telephone manner
- Accuracy, precision, attention to detail
