Who you'll be supporting & more about the role:

Who will you be supporting?

  • We are a friendly group of individuals with different personalities who get on well together and enjoy group activities but also like time to enjoy our own company and interests. At the moment there are two of us but our home does cater for 6 individuals, three more people are currently in the process of moving in but haven't moved in yet.

What is important to us?

  • The things we are most proud of at Cherry Tree House is how well we all get on. Our staff team are really caring and responsive to all our needs. We enjoy a variety of activities ranging from shopping trips, theatre trips, garden centre visits, soap making, movie nights, food from around the world dining experience.
  • We all have different interests. Some of us enjoy placing a bet at the local bookies, some of us enjoy gardening and growing things, pamper sessions and some of us enjoy playing quiz games, our favourite is who wants to be a millionaire.
  • As a group we would describe ourselves as friendly, easygoing and thoughtful but we all have different personalities, some of us enjoy listening to music, some enjoy watching tv, some of us enjoy our food and others enjoy nights out at the local disco.
  • We would love someone to move into Cherry Tree House with the same interest and someone who could become a friend to us all.

Other information?

  • Our staff are trained in emergency first aid, moving and positioning, Administration of medication and much more. If one of us have a specific condition, our staff will have access to that specific training i.e Epilepsy and/or diabetes.
  • Our home is situated just a stone's throw away from Rotherham town centre. We can walk into town to access all amenities.
  • We have regular staff at cherry Tree House. We have 4 morning staff and 2 afternoon staff, we also have 2 night staff so we are never alone.

This is why
we're really passionate about recruiting to individuals' values and
we recruit people from all walks of life; From people with vast experience in a support worker or care assistant role, from people with lived experiences who may have friends or relatives with disabilities or have looked after older relatives, to people with no experience
