About The Opportunity:
We now have an exciting opportunity for a Generic Channel buyer.

Within this role you will purchase product at advantageous prices to the group from Scheme Suppliers, assisting in the negotiation of costs and defining cascade positions of such manufacturers alongside Keys and Elite product, whilst maintaining a consistent supply of product.

Assist the Commercial Keys Account Manager in maintaining and developing attractive

and competitive commercial offers to support the propositions and support for loyal members in addition to Rowlands retail.

Key Responsibilities - Astute negotiation of costs of generic product for sale within the commercial propositions aligned to loyal customers, including Rowlands.

• Conduct all necessary tasks to ensure the maximum availability of product to Phoenix,placing orders and backfilling against any notified market shortages.
• Develop and enhance the relationship with all Scheme type suppliers maintaining high level interfaces verbally, electronically and face to face with them. This to include occasional internal and external site visits as appropriate in order to

ensure that Phoenix is viewed as a primary customer by manufacturers

• Actively develop first line manufacturer and appropriate cascades for portfolios to cover non Keys product for commercial propositions aligned to loyal customers
• Assist the Commercial Keys Account Manager in developing and maintaining the

Keys portfolio of generic product

• Align with internal and channel proposition managers to develop and support the

required commercial offers aligned to these.

• Engage with the Pricing department and Telesales to maximise information flow in

respect of inbound cost price movements and respond to any challenges from them

around required pricing to remain market competitive

• Consult with the Elite generic purchasing team to ensure alignment on market pricing

movements and availability

• Proactively engage in and contribute to category and pricing meetings
• Communicate with Operations, Supply Chain, Replenishment and Depots alongside the Nupharm Direct Trading Facilitator to advise on deliveries and minimise friction to

efficient receipt of goods

• Address any overstock and understock product within their area of responsibility in

co-ordination with supply Chain and replenishment

• Assist in the achievement of the targeted annual PHD manufacturer rebate (LTA) with Elite suppliers
• Produce any necessary reports requested by the business

Essential Skills/Experience:

• Purchasing background within the generic category with experience of

handling large commodity type accounts

• Experience of achieving budgeted sales and profit
• Strong relationship building pedigree with suppliers
• Experience of working within multifaceted companies requiring high levels of

Internal communication

Knowledge and skills

• Strong negotiating skills
• Ability to calculate percentage and cash profit margin
• Understanding of reimbursement models
• Attention to detail, helpful with a positive outlook. Selfmotivated
• Excellent communicator
• Competent at time management and multitasking
• Good team player whilst competent at operating on their own

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 GCSE's including Maths and English
• Minimum intermediate Microsoft Office in Word, Excel and Outlook Experience
