  • As part of the Legal team supporting Boots and No7 Beauty Company and reporting into the Data Protection and Privacy Officer (DPO), we are looking for you to assist the DPO in the development, implementation and ongoing monitoring of data privacy compliance within the Boots and No7 Beauty Company organisation, and provide support to the DPO in demonstrating compliance with data privacy principles across a range of customer facing and internal activities.

About the role

  • Assist the DPO to: (i) develop and maintain a data privacy compliance strategy, (ii) develop policies, procedures and practices for data privacy; and (iii) measure and monitor compliance to data privacy policies
  • Support the DPO when collaborating with internal Legal, Data Governance and Information Security teams to develop, implement and drive data privacy initiatives
  • Assist with investigations into complaints (employee, customer and the Information Commissioners Office) and potential breaches of data privacy regulations and develop a response protocol including remediation activities
  • Track developments in data privacy regulations/legislation and Information Commissioners Office guidance/enforcement actions/policies, and proactively update policies, procedures and strategies

What you'll need to have

  • You should have previous experience in providing data protection advice
  • You should have a detailed understanding of the GDPR and current UK data privacy legislation including but not limited to the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR)
  • You should have the independence to be able take responsibility for own workload and to deliver quality results to tight deadlines
  • You should have excellent organizational, communication and management skills
