To be part of a small multi-skilled team. To carry out decoration and minor maintenance throughout the school.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • To carry out tasks as directed by the Maintenance Manager and/or Estates Manager.
  • To work on own initiative and as part of a maintenance team.
  • To ensure that all decoration work is carried out to the required standard.
  • To use the necessary protection, such as dustsheets, whilst undertaking jobs and cleaning up at end of task.
  • To take all steps necessary to ensure a safe working environment, both personal and those affected by the work.
  • To assist with other duties which may reasonably be requested by the Maintenance Manager and/or Estates Manager.

Other:

  • Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety, security, confidentiality and data protection, relating all concerns to the appropriate person.
  • Appreciate and support the role of other professionals.
  • Attend and participate in relevant meetings and training as required.
  • Undertake any related activities or duties from time to time.
  • Undertake evening and weekend work as required.

Qualifications/Education/Training (Essential/Desirable)

  • Time served tradesperson (5 years)

  • Relevant City & Guilds qualification or equivalent

  • Sound Health & Safety knowledge, put into practice
    D

Experience

  • Experience and knowledge of decorating
    E:
  • Knowledge of safe working practices and procedures within a workshop environment

  • Good communication skills

  • Ability to read, understand and interpret written/verbal instructions and complete necessary paperwork
