About the Direct Payment Holder


Seeking a compassionate and experienced Personal Assistant (PA) to support a delightful 6-year-old boy diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and suspected Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA).


Hours and rate of pay
4 hours per week, split over two days (Tuesday and Friday morning).

Location
Stevenage (SG2)

DBS/Checks
Confirmation of DBS check

Right to Work and references will be needed.

Training
Training will be offered to enable to complete the mandatory training required:

  • Safeguarding Children
  • Introduction to Paediatric first aid
  • Moving and handling

What you would be doing
Engaging in activities aligned with his interests, providing feedback on his mood.

Cleaning up after play sessions and organising toys.

Assisting with feeding if hungry and tidying up after meals.

Basic household tasks like washing dishes and cutlery.

Required skills and experience
Experience and training in ASD, PDA, and mental health.

Childcare qualifications are preferred.

Patience, empathy, and a deep understanding of autism and related conditions.

Willingness to engage in playful and calm activities.

A driver's licence is preferred to facilitate outings.

Prefer a female PA.
