About The Role


Hounslow Adult and Community Education (known as Learn Hounslow) delivers the council's Adult Education Budget allocation, which funds a range of learning opportunities to help adults develop their knowledge, skills and confidence so they can re-skill, up-skill, move into work, improve their prospects and support their families.

Our Digital Skills and Technology courses develop our learners' digital skills for their everyday lives and work and includes a pathway to work in the IT sector.

We are currently seeking to appoint a full-time fixed term Tutor, with the ability to engage with adults in a positive manner to deliver, review and evaluate learning.


Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide relevant high-quality learning experiences (both in person and remotely) through the whole learning journey - enabling learners to achieve their learning outcomes and progress to the next stage
  • To support the service with its quality assurance, support for other tutors and CPD activities
  • To fully implement the principles and responsibilities of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy, in all aspects and duties of the role.

Your Skills:

  • Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately with a range of people, from learners to senior managers, tutors and partners
  • Knowledge and experience of the teaching, learning and assessment in the curriculum area of digital skills and technology
  • Excellent knowledge of and skills with educational digital technology
  • Excellent organisational skills

Professional Qualifications:

  • You have a degree or equivalent and an adult teaching qualification at level 5 or above, or a commitment to gain one within an agreed timescale, depending on individual circumstances. You have English, maths and IT skills of a standard equivalent to at least level 2.
  • Enhanced DBS check is required.
