Main Responsibilities
  • Act as the E&P function leader for the programme
  • Own relationships with key stakeholders and delivery leads
  • Lead technical input to development of standards and specifications
  • Support accident and incident investigations
  • Identify opportunities for technical and business process improvement
  • Represent TRU externally as required
  • Support competency frameworks and specify engineering discipline training needs
The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have experience leading electrification on a major programme, strong team working skills, and industry insights. You should be a Chartered Engineer with knowledge of policies, standards, and safety management processes.

We need you to have:

  • Chartered Engineer or equivalent experience (Level 7)
  • Knowledge of applicable policies and legislation
  • Experience in technology development and safety management

It would be advantageous if you have:

  • Experience in electrification design and delivery
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Background in engineering technology development
  • Work experience in safety critical environments

Transpennine Route Upgrade

The Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) is a Programme improving the railway between Manchester and York. This key railway route serves 23 stations, crosses bridges, tunnels, and level crossings. The upgrades aim to deliver a reliable railway for passengers with more seats, services, and faster journey times.
